Our Rotarian brother Jose Lalas is currently in the Philippines and he is working on a project sponsored by the Corona Circle City Rotary Club in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Agham in the Philippines.  Following is the latest update we received from Jose. 

"Hello, Pam.
 
I had a verbal agreement with Rotary Club of Agham, District 3780, Diliman, Quezon City, Philippines.  The Charter President Dr. Virginia Reyes-Santos and the current President Mr. Perry Callanta are excited to establish a relationship with us (SISTER CLUB) and co-host our club's Literacy Project.  We have identified a couple schools where we will do a "Shared-Reading" project with elementary-aged students.
 
Mechanics:
 
1.  The "Shared-Reading" Project will commence in late January
2.  Circle City will purchase the books ($500 - $700 worth of children's books).
3.  Rotary Club of Agham will contact the schools that they have been conducting a breakfast program
4.  Jose's students from the University of the Philippines will create book guides
5.  Jose and Rotarians from Rotary Club of Agham will read to students.
 
I will send you pictures as soon as the program starts in late January.
